Here is a thing or two about the standard calculation of time in ancient Hindu civilization
"to insert the softest lotus-pellet, time taken by a niddle is called a 'Truti'.
100 Truti = 1 Luv
30 Luv = 1 Nimesh
27 Nimesh = 1 Gurvakshara
10 Gurvakshara = 1 Praana
6 Praana = 1 Vighatika
60 Vighatika = 1 ghatika or Dand
60 Dand = 1 Day/night.
So in this manner there are 17496000000 'Trutis' in one day/night. According to modern differentiation one day/night = 86400 seconds.
So in this manner one 'Truti' = 17496000000/86400 = .202500 seconds, (Or 1 second = 202500 Trutis).
This is the ancient Hindu (Indian) way of the calculation of time. Through this they were able to calculate the measure of time period of a century, millennium and even the period of DOOM (Pralaya) and Creation (Srishti).
